| Application | (1) Using Pt(acac)2 as a precursor, coatings and films can be prepared on surfaces like Mo, Re, W, titanium cathodes, and silicon via chemical vapor deposition (CVD). (2) Heating Fe(CO)5 and Pt(acac)2 produces Fe/Pt alloy nanoparticles, which can be used for magnetic storage. (3) Using Pt(acac)2 as a precursor in CVD, catalytic electrodes for electric car fuel cells can be made. (4) Pt(acac)2 can also be used to prepare highly dispersed supported catalysts like PGMs/Al2O3, PGMs/TiO2, and PGMs/SiO2, which are useful for homogeneous and heterogeneous hydrogenation, dehalogenation, and other reactions. (5) It can serve as a catalyst for sensors mimicking organosilicon compounds. (6) Acts as a catalyst for I2 addition reactions. | ||
